Beats Per Plant

SURFACE

BPP is an independent radio art project broadcasted online. Music is no kulning. And this radio show has grown out of such existential crisis to take an act against following herding instincts within the music realm. Challenging the issue, having each episode laid by a theme, through which a story has been told—usually a specific plant, a family and the music that is to bend as many genres as possible.

APPROACH

For instance, one of the episodes, Ornata, was based on the event where her plants had a drastic bug damage when she was away. And she picked ‘Leaf Miner’ for this episode in remembrance of her misery, and the tracks she listened to when she was feeling uneasy not being able to help them.

Or, the Moon Tree, it was based on the story of Stuart Roosa as an example for the eternal search for life in space. In 1972, Apollo 14 launched with hundreds of tree seeds packed in small containers in Stuart Roosa’s personal kit. Upon return to Earth, seeds, known as the “Moon trees”, were germinated and planted throughout the world. So, the playlist is packed with space themed music that is intended to take you into orbit around the Moon and back, just like what Roosa with the Moon trees. Buckle up!

It's all about vibrations man
